Shower Corner Shelves: Check These 4 Things Before You Buy
A shower corner shelf is a small triangular shelf that fixes into the corner of a shower or bath, often without drilling. It only works if it fits the corner clear of the shower head and door, the wall suits its adhesive or suction cups, your bottles fit under the shelf above, and it holds the weight. Use these checks before choosing one. This guide is a planning aid, not a compatibility guarantee.

1. Corner space
Measure how far a shelf can reach along each wall without hitting the shower head, controls, door or screen. IKEA's TISKEN corner shelf unit with suction cup is 30 cm wide and 20 cm deep. The no-drill two-pack's images mark 21.5 cm and 14.5 cm on its edges; the suction-cup shelf's images mark 30.5 cm across the front and 23.5 cm along one side.
2. Wall surface
IKEA says TISKEN "Only sticks on flat surfaces such as glass, mirrors and tiles." and "Clean the surface before mounting the suction cup to ensure better grip." One reviewer wrote: "The suction cups stick very well as long as you have smooth tiles." The suction-cup shelf's images list painted walls, plasterboard and wallpaper as not suitable.
3. Bottle height
Measure your tallest bottle and leave that much space, plus room to lift it out, below the next shelf or the shower head. TISKEN is 17 cm high. The no-drill shelves have a 3.8 cm rim and the suction-cup shelf a 6.8 cm rim in their images; the suction-cup shelf is 15 cm high with its hooks.
4. Load and drainage
IKEA says TISKEN "Holds up to 3 kg." We found no maximum load in kg on either AliExpress listing (one image says "40,000 Times Load-Bearing Tests"), so ask the seller before loading full bottles. The no-drill shelves' images show water draining through slots in the base. One TISKEN reviewer wrote: "Doesn’t stick to bathroom wall, keeps falling."
Before you order
Keep the space along each wall, your wall surface, your tallest bottle and the weight you want to store next to the shelf's size, fixing method, rim height and load. Clean and dry the wall before fixing it. If a figure is missing, ask the seller.
